Employee timesheet calculator
A free employee timesheet for one week. Type the start and end time for each day and the unpaid break, and it works out the hours for each day, the weekly total and the gross pay.
Leave the start and end the same for a day not worked. A shift that ends after midnight counts as running overnight.

What the employee timesheet calculator works out
An employee timesheet is the weekly record of when someone started, stopped and took a break. This calculator turns those times into hours worked each day, adds up the week and multiplies by an hourly rate to give gross pay, before any tax or deduction.
How it is calculated
Take the start from the end
Hours for a day = end time - start time - unpaid break. 9:00 to 17:30 is 8.5 hours.
Take off the unpaid break
A 30 minute unpaid break leaves 8 hours for the day. Paid breaks are not taken off.
Add the week and multiply by the rate
Five days of 8 hours is 40 hours. At $18 an hour that is 40 x 18 = $720.00 gross for the week.
Let the timesheet fill itself in
Wrkbase builds each week from attendance sign-in and sign-off, so nobody types start and end times. A manager approves the week, and approved hours feed an hourly pay line.

How do you calculate hours on an employee timesheet?
Subtract the start time from the end time, then take off any unpaid break. 9:00 to 17:30 with a 30 minute unpaid break is 8 hours. Add the days to get the week.
Does this employee timesheet include overtime?
No. It pays every hour at the same rate. For hours over a threshold, use the overtime calculator and add the two amounts.
How do I enter a night shift?
Enter the real start and end times. If the end is earlier than the start, the calculator counts the shift as running past midnight, so 22:00 to 06:00 is 8 hours before any break.
Does Wrkbase have employee timesheets?
Yes, on the Team and Enterprise plans. Each week fills in from attendance sign-in and sign-off, a person can correct a day by giving a reason, and a manager approves the week or sends it back. Approved hours are what an hourly pay line pays.
