Submit week

The week fills itself in from the attendance clock, overtime included.

A simpler way

A chain of steps, replaced by one move.

The old way

  1. Collect hours
  2. Chase the missing ones
  3. Work out overtime
  4. Get a sign-off
  5. Retype it into payroll

Every retyped number is a chance for somebody to be paid wrong.

With Wrkbase

Submit my week

41:30 hours sent to your manager, 1:30 of it overtime.

Once approved, the same figures are on the next pay run. Nobody copies them across.

How it works

Start to finish,in plain steps.

  1. 1

    The week fills itself in

Every day shows the hours from the attendance clock, with overtime already split out. There is nothing to type.

  2. 2

Fix a day, with a reason

Forgot to sign off? Correct the day and say why. The clocked figure stays on the record beside it.

  3. 3

    Submit, then approve

Submitting freezes the week and tells the manager. They approve it, or send it back with a note.

  4. 4

    Approved hours become pay

The next pay run pays normal hours at the rate and overtime at your multiplier, straight from the approved week.

Limits

What it does not do.

Better to know now than after you have moved your team in.

  • Overtime is daily only: no weekly thresholds, double time, or state and country rules.

  • Hours come from the attendance clock. Task-timer time is shown for context and never sets pay.

  • A timesheet changes hourly pay only. A salaried person's pay is their salary.

  • No tax filing or direct deposit: pay still goes out through your bank or processor.

Questions

Questions worth asking first

Where do the hours on a timesheet come from?

From the attendance clock: sign-in to sign-off, minus breaks, for each day of the week. Nobody types their hours in. Time from task timers is shown beside each day for context, but it is not what the timesheet counts.

What if someone forgot to sign off?

They correct that day on their timesheet and give a reason. The correction is stored beside the clocked figure, so the approver sees both. The real sign-in and sign-off times are never edited.

Who approves a timesheet?

A manager approves the people who report to them. The Boss and HR can approve anyone's. Sending a week back needs a note saying what to fix. When someone has no manager, the Boss is told the week is waiting.

How is overtime worked out?

By the day. Minutes past your daily threshold count as overtime and are paid at your multiplier, 1.5 times by default. If you set no threshold, overtime starts after a normal working day: your office hours minus the break. Both are set in Company settings.

How do approved hours reach payroll?

When a pay run is created, an hourly person's line uses the approved timesheet for any day it covers and the attendance clock for the rest. Normal hours are paid at their rate, overtime hours at the rate times your multiplier, and both figures are kept on the payslip line.

Can a submitted week still change?

No. Submitting freezes a copy of every day, so a later attendance change cannot move a week that is waiting or approved. A week that is sent back opens again and reads the clock live.
