What the time card calculator works out
A time card is the record of the hours someone worked each day. This calculator adds a week of those hours together and multiplies the total by an hourly rate to give gross pay, before any tax or deduction.
How it is calculated
Add the hours for each day
Total hours = Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday + Thursday + Friday + Saturday + Sunday.
Multiply by the hourly rate
Gross pay = total hours x hourly rate.
Worked example
Four days of 8 hours and one of 7.5 is 39.5 hours. At $18 an hour that is 39.5 x 18 = $711.00 for the week.
Stop collecting time cards by hand
Wrkbase records the hours as people work: attendance logs sign-in, breaks and sign-off, and a task timer starts when a task moves to In progress. Both are on the Free plan, for up to 5 people.
Good to know before you rely on it
How do I turn minutes into decimal hours?
Divide the minutes by 60. 15 minutes is 0.25, 30 minutes is 0.5 and 45 minutes is 0.75, so 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours.
Does this time card calculator include overtime?
No. It pays every hour at the same rate. If some hours are paid at a higher rate, use the overtime calculator for those and add the two amounts.
Is the result net or gross pay?
Gross. It is hours multiplied by the hourly rate, with no tax, benefit or other deduction taken off.
