A task waits in To do.

A simpler way

A chain of steps, replaced by one move.

The old way

  1. Open the task app
  2. Assign it
  3. Start a timer
  4. Log the hours
  5. Update the status
  6. Tell the team

Two apps and six steps for one piece of work, and the hours only exist if someone remembers the timer.

With Wrkbase

Move the card to In progress

Timer started. The team sees it in the Activity feed.

The status change is the only step. Everything else follows from it.

How it works

Start to finish,in plain steps.

  1. 1

    Create and assign

Add a task with an owner, a priority and a due date. You sign in for the day first.

  2. 2

    Move it to In progress

The timer starts by itself, and the move is posted to the Activity feed.

  3. 3

    Finish it

The time is saved on the task, and a task done by its due date counts toward the performance score.

Why it holds up

Careful by design,not by policy.

Checklists on every card

Break a task into steps and check them off inline, no separate subtask type to learn, and the parent card shows the count at a glance.

Four priority levels, real due dates

Low through Urgent, plus a due date that's re-anchored to your organization's own timezone, not the raw UTC instant a date picker happens to send.

@mention teammates in comments

Attach files, mention people by name, and only the people who need to know get notified, once, never twice for the same comment.

Every change is on the record

Status changes, comments, and reassignments all land in the same activity timeline, so "what happened here" never depends on asking around.

Filters that match how you think

Overdue, due today, due in 7 days, or no due date at all, combined with status, priority, and assignee, so a board with hundreds of tasks still reads at a glance.

One running timer, enforced

Only one timer per person, ever. If yours is already running elsewhere, dragging a card to In progress warns you instead of quietly starting a second clock.

Ask the AI agent to do it

"Create a task for the new hire onboarding, assign it to Sam." It drafts the action and waits for your confirmation before anything actually changes.

A gentle nudge before it goes stale

Tasks that have gone quiet get flagged to their assignee once a day, even ones with no due date at all, so nothing just sits forgotten in a column.

Board or list, whichever you need

Switch between a Kanban board and a flat sortable list any time, same tasks, same filters, underneath.

Hours tied to real presence, not phantom entries

Creating a task requires having signed in for the day, so the time a report shows traces back to someone who was actually there.

Everything included

Everything in Tasks.The full list.

If it is not here, the product does not do it yet.

Questions

Questions a small business actually asks

Does Wrkbase have task dependencies or Gantt charts?

No. Wrkbase is task management, not project management, and that distinction is worth being direct about: no dependencies between tasks, no Gantt or timeline views, no portfolio view across multiple projects. If that structure is the actual requirement, a dedicated project-management tool like ClickUp is the stronger fit for that specific job.

Can a task repeat?

Yes. Save a task as a template, with its checklist, priority, labels, and assignee, then set the template to repeat daily, weekly, or monthly. Wrkbase creates the task each time it is due. Templates are shared across the company, so anyone can start from one.

Is there a limit on how many tasks I can create?

No task-count limit on any plan. The Free tier is capped by team size, up to 5 members, not by how many tasks or boards you create.

Can the AI agent create or edit tasks on its own?

It can draft the change, assign a task, edit a due date, but it always stops and waits for your confirmation before anything actually changes. It never acts silently in the background.

Stop reconciling a task board against a separate timesheet.
