Short answer on Connecteam pricing: it is sold as separate hubs, and the Operations hub (time clock, scheduling, tasks, forms) is a flat monthly fee that already includes the first 30 users, with a small per-user charge after that. A free plan covers up to 10 users. For a team of 10 the free plan is the number to beat; for 30 or more the fee is lower per head than most per-user tools. Full disclosure: we build Wrkbase, and the last section says when it is and is not an alternative.
The free plan
Connecteam's pricing page lists a Small Business plan as free for life for up to 10 users, with all hubs included subject to the page's feature list, plus a 14-day trial of the paid plans without a credit card. This is the plan most very small teams should start with. Check which features the free column includes before relying on one; the payroll integration row is not clear on the page.
Operations hub tiers
The page shows two prices per plan without labelling them; the roughly 18 percent gap suggests the lower is billed yearly and the higher monthly. Lower figure first, October 2026: Basic $29 a month, Advanced $49, Expert $99. Higher figure: $35, $59, $119. Every plan includes the first 30 users. Extra users cost $0.80, $2.50 or $4.20 each on the lower figures, and $1.00, $3.00 or $5.00 on the higher. Enterprise is a custom quote.
So 40 people on Advanced is $49 plus 10 x $2.50, or $74 a month on the lower figures. That is flat pricing until 30 people, which is why it undercuts per-user tools at that size.
GPS, scheduling and what moves you up a tier
Real-time clock in and out with GPS is listed from Basic. Advanced adds full time clock customisation, auto clock-out and up to 10 geofence sites. Expert adds unlimited geofence sites. Scheduling follows the same ladder: basic scheduling with open shifts on Basic, repeating shifts and templates on Advanced, auto-assigned shifts on Expert.
The tier decision is therefore about how many sites you geofence and how complex the rota is, not about headcount.
Where Wrkbase is and is not an alternative
Wrkbase is not a deskless-workforce app: it has a phone clock with optional location, but no geofence tiers, shift marketplace or training hub, and it does not file payroll taxes. If a mobile frontline team is the use case, Connecteam is the closer fit. It is an alternative for office and remote teams that want attendance, tasks, time tracking, leave, team chat and payroll tracking in one workspace: free for up to 5 people and $8 per member per month on Team, which is $80 a month for 10. For a head-to-head on the time clock side see clock in clock out apps for small business.
