Short answer on Deputy pricing: three per-user plans at $5, $6.50 and $9 a month, a $30 monthly minimum on monthly plans, and no free plan. For 10 people that is $50 on Lite, $65 on Core and $90 on Pro at the listed prices. Payroll, HR and messaging are add-ons, so a US team that wants payroll should budget about $129 a month more at that size. Full disclosure: we build Wrkbase, and the last section says when it is and is not an alternative.
The three plans
Deputy's pricing page lists three plans per user per month in US dollars. It shows an annual and monthly toggle with a Save 10 percent label but does not say which billing basis the listed prices reflect. Prices on 31 October 2026:
| Plan | Per user | Scheduling | Time and attendance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $5 | Basic scheduling | Basic timesheets and time clocking |
| Core (most popular) | $6.50 | Adds advanced scheduling, micro-scheduling, auto-scheduling and demand forecasting | Adds biometrics clocking and timesheet auto-approval |
| Pro | $9 | Adds custom access levels and location hierarchies | Adds advanced timesheets |
The monthly minimum and the trial
Monthly Lite, Core and Pro plans carry a $30 minimum per invoice per month, effective from 1 September 2025. On Lite that only matters below six users. There is no permanent free plan. Lite and Core show a free trial button without stating its length, and Pro's reads Contact us. Add-ons have a 30-day free trial.

Who it suits, and where Wrkbase fits
Deputy fits teams where scheduling is the job: forecasting, auto-scheduling and multi-location rotas sit on Core. For cheaper or flat-fee options see Deputy alternatives.
Wrkbase is not a scheduling-first tool. Its shift scheduling is a weekly rota with no auto-scheduling or demand forecasting, and it does not file payroll taxes. It is an alternative when the rota is one part of a wider job: attendance, timesheets, tasks, leave, team chat and payroll tracking are in one workspace, free for up to 5 people and $8 per member per month on Team. The line-by-line version is on Wrkbase vs Deputy.
